"NCADD- IT'S ALWAYS A GREAT PLACE TO GO"

"This is excellent! You are truly a master advocate for NCADD, the Affiliates and for those we serve! The segment on ABC was a powerful statement about NCADD and the National Network of Affiliates. The statement by the interviewee, urging people to call NCADD was perfect- "NCADD- IT'S ALWAYS A GREAT PLACE TO GO". Thank you NCADD!"

"DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT"

"Just wanted to say thank you for the terrific address you gave. You should know that your speech, on behalf of NCADD, immediately got excellent reviews from those in attendance and thereafter. Your remarks were right on target and just right for our crowd. One of the attendees who really enjoyed your talk put it this way: "I enjoyed NCADD's CEO's talk so much, you need to hear stuff like that from time to time, it's the kind of thing that keeps you going for another year! It doesn't get much better than that."

AffiliateNetworkOverview"BEING AN NCADD AFFILIATE SAVES US MONEY"

"Through NCADD"s Affiliate Benefit Provider Program, we transitioned our 401(k) to Mutual of America. Not only is the Council saving $3,000 a year, but we have also been able to increase the number of staff contributing to their 401(k) and taking ownership of their retirement plans."

"We recently changed to the NCADD Affiliate Benefit Provider Program and it has saved us thousands of dollars every year! And, as Executive Director, having this program in place has been an enormous relief in terms of my stress level- thank you NCADD."

"A+ FOR NCADD"

"I appreciate all the excellent communication to the Affiliates, your passion for the Mission of NCADD, and the national visibility you have brought to NCADD. Thank you for all you and your staff do. A+ For NCADD."

"APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICE AND GUIDANCE"

"Thank you. I just want to thank you for our meeting last week. It was so nice of the NCADD Staff to meet with me. As a new Executive Director of an NCADD Affiliate, facing some serious challenges, I want you to know how much I appreciate your advice and guidance. As a result, I have since spoken with my Board Chair about my concerns and we are meeting tomorrow afternoon to determine how we should proceed. It is nice to know that I can turn to NCADD for support."

"NCADD'S PASSION AND COMMITMENT"

"NCADD is doing great work! The communications, the information and the motivational "speeches" have been great for us as an Affiliate and great for the field. NCADD's passion and commitment to our Mission is evident. Thank you again for all of NCADD's great work!

ON THE PASSAGE OF PARITY BILL: "THANK FOR GETTING US ALL INVOLVED IN THIS STRUGGLE."

"I really appreciate how NCADD has engaged the National Network of Affiliates to help us stay in touch, meet with and write our legislators. NCADD has made it easy to participate. I think it is a great use of our National Network and it helps all of us. Most importantly it helps all of the people and families that we serve. Hooray!"

Affiliate Testimonials:

"History, Public Recognition, Knowledge, Media, Government Connections and Program Exposure"

We at South Bay Alcoholism Services dba National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of South Bay maintain our status as an NCADD Affiliate for a plethora of reasons:

1) History – If you do not know where you have been, you cannot effectively plot a productive course into the future. There is no deeper or richer history of advocacy, public education and prevention related to alcohol and drug misuse/abuse and addiction than the one NCADD provides.

2) Public Recognition – NCADD is a highly recognized and respected entity and our affiliation has often been a decisive factor in people and entity's decisions to support our efforts.

3) Knowledge Base – Access to a nationwide network of like minded agencies provides a rich field from which to draw ideas and solutions.

4) Media Exposure – Our affiliate status has enabled us to participate in events with A&E and Charter Cable and we are working on an event with Time Warner. A&E has continued to support our programs after the event we did with them. Local newspapers and magazines have sought our input on alcohol and drug related issues because of the NCADD affiliation.

5) National Governmental Connections – Because of our affiliation, we have the ear and respect of our representatives in Washington to a far higher degree than we would on our own and the every other year basing of the Conference of Affiliates in Washington leads to direct contact with key players from SAMHSA and ONDCP.

6) Exposure for our Programs – What we have succeeded at can be made available to a nationwide network of potential service deliverers. We are all in this to help people, how wonderful to potentially help even more through our affiliation.

These are just a few of the reasons, although there are many. We are proud to be an Affiliate and encourage your agency to seriously consider joining us!

“When I Need Help, Just One Phone Call……”

The Alcohol & Addictions Resource Center (AARC) in South Bend has been affiliated with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD)  since 1972.  This affiliation has brought increased value to our office in how we serve the community.

Since we are the only agency of our kind in Indiana, we respond to calls from all over the state as well as the region.   Many of these calls are from individuals seeking assistance for family members who live in other parts of the country.  I have been with AARC for 27 years and have lost count of the number of times I have picked up the phone and called another NCADD Affiliate for assistance.

This past month alone I called on the NCADD Affiliate in Jackson, MS and the NCADD Affiliate in Irvine, CA and both went above and beyond providing me information on resources in their community.  Not only is it a valuable resource for me to be able to pick up the phone and make this personal contact, but there is sense of trust that comes from the NCADD Affiliate connection.

From sharing ideas on fund development, to the challenges of operating a not for profit in difficult economic times, to helping a client find a service in another community, the NCADD Affiliate Executive Directors and the NCADD national office have always been there for me.  As a result, I feel like I have resources available to me from all over the country - the number of people one office in South Bend Indiana can help is multiplied by having NCADD and the National Network of Affiliates working with me.

When I need help, just one phone call to an NCADD Affiliate or the national office allows me to offer a level of help that I would not have without Affiliation.
