.08 BAC PROVISION (9/26/00)
A House-Senate Transportation Conference Committee is debating whether to make .08 BAC the national standard for determining impaired driving.
BACKGROUND
The Senate bill, S. 2770, includes a provision requiring states to adopt a .08 blood alcohol content law and outlining sanctions for those states in compliance by FY 2004.
