Prevention Plus provides a Resource Center for Burlington County. The Resource Center provides a free video loan library featuring over 200 videotapes on various Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) and related topics, offers an extensive selection of curricula, books, informative brochures, and pamphlets on a wide variety of wellness related topics.

Our Prevention Resource Center is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Mission

The mission of Prevention Plus of Burlington County, Inc. is to promote the health, wellness and safety of the individuals and families of our community by providing professional services for the prevention of the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and related issues through education, collaboration and advocacy. Prevention Plus is part of a statewide and national system providing science-based, comprehensive and professional prevention services.

Services Available to Community Members

Coping with Work and Family Stress

A research-validated substance abuse prevention program proven to reduce stress and the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse and violence. This comprehensive and exciting program provides adults with the skills necessary to successfully handle challenging situations and to reduce stressors which can contribute to mental or physical health problems.For more information on this particular service, please call Prevention Plus at 609-261-0001.

Family Nights Out (Strengthening Families)

This program for families includes children in family skill training sessions. Both parents and children learn and practice new behaviors separately, followed by working together so that appropriate responses to various behaviors become easier to incorporate into family interpersonal relations. Fatal Vision Goggles Project


This project addresses the serious problem of drinking and driving in NJ. The goal is to educate people on the dangers of over-consumption and drunk driving. This project sends a clear message that alcohol should not be consumed by anyone under the age of 21. For more information on this particular service, please email Joseph Conlin.

Footprints for Life

A six-week prevention program for children in grades two and three that builds internal assets and teaches the important life skills students need to grow up healthy and drug-free. The program uses puppets and stories that feature ‘real life’ situations experienced by a children’s soccer team. Life Skills Training (LST):

Each cycle of Life Skills Training (LST) consists of eight weekly sessions, each of which is one hour in length. LST has been shown to reduce future drug use and delay the age of first use, as well as increase coping and decision-making skills while reducing truancy and delinquency.  For more information please call Prevention Plus at 609-261-0001

Underage Drinking Prevention for Parents (Parents Who Host Lose the Most!)

Underage drinking is illegal – unacceptable and unhealthy! Parents Who Host Lose the Most! is a 45-minute program for parents about the realities of underage drinking, ways to prevent it and the liabilities and penalties for hosting/serving underage drinkers.

We Check for 21!

An education and advocacy campaign for the hospitality industry and retailers designed to improve compliance with the state’s legal drinking age: Alcohol sellers pledge to check the IDs of young buyers.

WISE – Wellness Initiative for Senior Education

A six-week wellness project designed to celebrate healthy aging, as well as to provide health information and offer resources for seniors. The six lessons cover a wide range of topics, including healthy lifestyle choices, risk factors, prescription drug use, ATOD prevention and ways to celebrate this exciting stage of life and the benefits that come with it.For more information on this particular service, please call Prevention Plus at 609-261-0001.

Zelda's Forest Friends

Prevention Plus educates the community that addiction is a disease that is both preventable and treatable, and offers programs designed to equip children, youth, adults, and communities with the skills and knowledge necessary to make healthy choices and to enhance community life.

We offer staff development and training to community agencies in order to enhance the ability of the Burlington County community to address the full range of needs of our diverse population.
