NCADD-MD is a statewide organization that works to educate and inform state and private decision makers on policies relating to addiction, treatment, recovery reducing the stigma associated with the disease and improving the understanding of addiction and the recovery process. We advocate for and with individuals and families who are affected by alcoholism and drug addiction.
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Maryland (NCADD-MD) focuses on raising public awareness and sensitivity on the issue of alcoholism and drug dependence in Maryland through sustaining a campaign of education, information-dissemination and public policy advocacy to ensure persons affected by the disease of addiction, and their families, have access to resources, support systems and services critical in accessing treatment and sustaining recovery.
NCADD-Maryland remains committed to pursuing and advocating for policy reform and legislative solutions, when necessary, in addressing identified policy acting as a barrier to accessing treatment.
NCADD-Maryland hosts a variety of educational, advocacy and fundraising events each year. Our events often feature some of the most widely-recognized, and sought after, local and national speakers on the topics of prevention, intervention, addiction, treatment and recovery. Attendance at an NCADD-Maryland-sponsored event offers educational and learning opportunities, along with great networking!
