The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of the San Fernando Valley [NCADD-SFV] is a community-based prevention and recovery program for individuals and families coping with the devastating effects of the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. We are an affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
Our focus is to help develop a community prevention process to modify the social and economic patterns related to alcohol and other drug use and to promote healthful behaviors, decisions and environments that will reduce or eliminate the problematic use of alcohol and other drugs.
We provide a comprehensive array of community services that include prevention, education, and referral services, and counseling and treatment services for individuals and families coping with the devastating effects of the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. Fees are affordable and, where appropriate, are based on the individual's documented ability to pay.

Prevention

Prevention is defined by the County of Los Angeles Substance Abuse Prevention and Control, as "Not in need of Treatment". Included in this population are individuals that are involved in experimentation of substance use, at risk for addiction, under age drinking, or persons that would benefit from education, awareness and early intervention.

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of San Fernando Valley, Inc. (NCADD-SFV) is one of 31 agencies that have been awarded a 2 1/2 year contract in providing prevention services. NCADD-SFV has been recognized as a long standing outpatient treatment program, that provides quality services, as well as an organization dedicated to the community in making a difference.

During the time period of January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 we have been diligently working with SAPC (Substance Abuse Prevention and Control)in doing community assessments, to identify the needs, and populations that are at-risk and could benefit from prevention services.

As we move through this exciting project, in collaboration with the County of Los Angeles we will be providing services to our local communities in a way that will be beneficial to many for years to come.

As the projects develop we will post regular updates of out activities and services on our web-site.
