Programs for Children

Forest Friends is a developmental puppet program designed to help children learn basic life skills and character enhancement that they will use their entire life. Each session includes a story portrayed by animal puppets, a discussion and an activity to reinforce the lesson conveyed by the story.

Footprints for Life is a research-based primary prevention program that builds assets and teaches important life skills to students in grades two and three. Through the use of puppets and stories that feature “real life” situations experienced by a children’s soccer team, the program offers many opportunities for students to practice the new skills they have learned in a fun and non-threatening way.

Programs for Teens

“STRYDES” (Strategy to Reduce Youth Contact by Delivering Evidence-based Services)

By enrolling in STRYDES you will have the opportunity to participate in any of the FREE parenting, teen or family programs available through this new initiative committed to the issue of Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC).

Programs for Families

Strengthening Families Programs have been enriching the lives of families across America since 1986 and are aimed at parents and/or caregivers and their youth. The programs are designed to help parents and caregivers build on their strengths in showing love, setting limits, helping youth develop skills in handling peer pressure, building a positive future and ultimately helping families grow together.

Active Parenting of Teens (English and Spanish)

Active Parenting of Teens is an Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Model Program and on NREPP that helps parents meets the challenges of parenting teens and preteens in two three session mini-courses.

Programs For Seniors

Wellness Initiative for Senior Education (WISE)

The educational program offers six lessons that cover a wide range of topics. Join us for this fun program, where you’ll meet new people and

  • Learn about the aging process and how to make healthy lifestyle choices
  • Celebrate this exciting stage of life and all the benefits that come with it
  • Discuss risk factors and behaviors you should avoid to stay healthy
  • Examine how alcohol, prescription medications and over-the-counter medications affect seniors differently and how you can avoid problems
  • Learn how to use simple tools to help you feel more empowered about your health and the healthcare you receive

Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP)

CDSMP is a community workshop designed to give people with chronic conditions (such as heart disease, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, asthma etc.) and/or their caregivers the knowledge and skills needed to take a more active role in their health care.

Community Programs

ATOD Focus on Prevention (formerly the Party Drugs initiative) is an integral part of the Community Resource Center of Prevention Is Key. Through collaborative educational events, advocacy and community programs we act to raise awareness of the dangers of current substance abuse threats and provide the resources to help keep Morris County familes safe and healthy.

Tobacco Education Programs are available for all audiences from elementary grades to senior citizens.


Facing Addiction and The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) are proud to announce the merger of our organizations – creating a national leader in turning the tide on the addiction epidemic.
