The Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence, Inc. (RCADD) provides Rockland County, NY, with prevention education and advocacy services to increase public awareness of the disease of addiction. Services include Information & Referral Services for persons seeking knowledge about addiction, self-help meetings and chemical dependency/co-dependency treatment programs. Recovery Support Services offer individuals support for sustaining their recovery through self-help meetings, advocacy and recovery coaching. The School Based Prevention Program utilizes non-model and model prevention strategies such as information dissemination, education, positive alternatives, early intervention, community/professional mobilization and social approaches. Community Based- Prevention services for youth, parents, families, educators, helping professional, faith communities and employers to understand substance use disorder. The Professional Training Program provides 350 OASAS approved educational preparation for becoming a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or Credentialed Prevention Specialist/Professional (CPS/CPP). The Mission of the Rockland Council on Alcoholism & Other Drug Dependence Inc. is to reduce the stigma of the disease of alcoholism and addiction; to help addicted persons, their families and concerned others to obtain appropriate services through referral services and advocacy; to increase public awareness about recovery; to provide support for the recovery community; to reduce the incidence of alcoholism and chemical dependency through prevention education and training.
