The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence-Orange County (NCADD-OC) is a non-profit, community-based organization that provides professional resources on alcohol, tobacco, and drug-related issues. Since 1957, NCADD-OC has provided high-quality programs and services aimed at improving the quality of life for the residents of Orange County.
The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence-Orange County will be the leader and partner in eliminating alcohol, tobacco and drug-related problems in Orange County.
To achieve its mission, NCADD-OC:
NCADD-OC is certified by the State of California and County of Orange to provide a Drinking Driver Program (DDP) for individuals convicted of DUI. NCADD-OC is one of the very few non-profits in California offering this service. In addition, NCADD-OC offers open enrollment, DMV electronic filing and two centrally located facilities in Lake Forest and Santa Ana. For over 50 years, NCADD-OC has provided the highest level of alcohol education and prevention to the Orange County community.
Drunk driving convictions carry several consequences, including fines, jail time, driver's license suspensions, and mandatory alcohol education classes. The duration of the classes depends on the offense and the number of DUI / DWI convictions a driver has had during a 10-year period.
Alcohol education classes can be ordered by either the court or the DMV. Often, a driver whose license was suspended and who wishes to obtain a restricted license must either enroll in or complete alcohol education courses to obtain the restricted license.
