The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence’s 72nd Anniversary Dinner was held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City. NCADD honored a remarkable couple – Joel Klein, Chief Policy and Strategy Officer at Oscar Insurance and former Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education under Mayor Michael Bloomberg; and his wife, Nicole Seligman, President of Sony Corporation of America and Sony Entertainment – for their many contributions to society and their support of NCADD and its goals.
Rosanna Scotto of Fox 5’s Good Day New York was host for the evening. After a welcome by NCADD President, Andrew Pucher, Board Chair James Abernathy introduced Larry Kudlow, CNBC’s Senior Contributor and nationally-syndicated radio host. Mr. Kudlow told a moving story about his own road to recovery. Deputy Chair Mitchell Rosenthal presented the honorees with an NCADD Community Service Award.
Over 250 guests from the business as well as from the professional treatment and recovery communities were on board to honor the couple.
Dinner Chairs were James L. Abernathy, Steven A. Cohen, Stephanie and John Foster, Debbie and Allen Grubman, Michael Lynton, Doug Morris, Andrew N. Pucher, Mitchell S. Rosenthal, MD, Hamilton South, Juliana Terian, Margo and Irwin Winkler and Mortimer B. Zuckerman.
