Mid-Michigan Recovery Services Inc. [MMRS Inc.] is the longest serving alcohol & other drug treatment agency in the Mid-Michigan area, with over 50 years of continuous service, so we KNOW recovery is possible. In fact some of our clients have become dedicated long-standing team members.

All of MMRS Inc.’s treatment services are licensed by the State of Michigan, accredited by the Council on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and are income-based. The agency is publicly funded, assuring the highest level of quality and oversight for the people we serve and those who refer them. It also assures that services are provided regardless of an individual’s ability to pay. We serve those with insurance, Medicare and also those who do not have the ability to pay in some cases. MMRS Inc. admits nearly 1,000 persons each year through our various programs and actively works within our community to advocate, educate, and serve as a substance use treatment provider. We partner with other community organizations to engage in providing permanent supportive housing to community members in need and promote a recovery oriented system of care that is inclusive, informed and collaborative in order to provide safe and effective treatment options to all in need.

Our clinical staff have masters degrees, are licensed in the State of Michigan (LMSW, LLP, LPC) and are credentialed (CAADC, CADC) from the Michigan Board for Addictions Professionals (MCBAP).  We also have licensed and credentialed Medical Director and Psychologist on staff.

Family and Friends Support Services

We host a weekly friends and family support group which is open to anyone 18 yrs. or older whose life is impacted by someone by who has a substance use disorder.
The group is free to the public and no registration required. Please see our website or Facebook page for information on date and time.

Transitions – Sober Housing Choice for Men

We offer a sober community housing option for men who are early in recovery and still need additional support and accountability as they continue on a path of successful recovery. Contact us for additional details.

Recovery Community Yoga

Mid-Michigan Recovery Services believes that recovery encompasses your whole being and we are committed to bringing community members in recovery opportunities to enjoy wellness programs and recovery oriented fellowship. In that effort we have wonderful community supporters who conduct a community Recovery Yoga class every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Come and enjoy a relaxing discipline to help support your wellness and grow your fellowship in a new and fun way. The class is conducted on a donation basis, but don’t let your ability to pay hinder you from taking advantage of this opportunity.

Capital Area Project Vox

Capital Area Project VOX is a community group that is dedicated to breaking down the stigma of addiction and providing opportunities for community members who are in recovery or supportive of the recovery movement to participate in becoming a positive force of recovery in community.   • TREM (Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model) - Gender Specific
  • ICARUS (Especially for individuals who are at the pre-contemplative/contemplative stage of change)
  • Recovery Coach

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [CBT]

Thinking Matters

  • Those in need of help with making better choices, communication, anger management, problem solving, or other skills.
  • High Risk of recidivism
  • Court Ordered

 Composed of two components:

Phase I: The Basics

  • Meets twice a week up to 7 weeks
  • Topics include: Recognizing Thought Risk & Content, Recognizing Thinking Patterns, Replacement Thinking
  • Each client will work through material in each topic to learn the basic cognitive skills at their own pace

Phase II: Individualized

  • Meets once a week for 6 weeks
  • Phase Two Topic Areas: Relapse Prevention OR Personal Relationships
  • Thinking Errors

 Intensive Outpatient [LOP]

  • Group Therapy
  • Life Skills Groups
  • 3 days per week
  • 3.5 hours per day
  • Number of sessions is individualized and varies

 Residential Treatment

Glass House (women) & Holden House (men)

Our residential programs serve adults with substance use disorders who are unable to sustain recovery in an outpatient level of care. This includes adults who present with multiple issues i.e. addiction, trauma, domestic violence, depression, homelessness, poverty, etc. the women’s program does serve women who are pregnant.

Transitions – Sober Housing Choice for Men

Transitions is a sober housing program available to men who have need of a lifestyle in a community based sober living environment as the continue to seek stability in a supportive environment in early recovery. Please consult the agency website for additional information.
