About the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana:

The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) was established in 1958 and is a 501(c 3) non-profit private health organization. CADA provides treatment to adults and children suffering from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs through over a dozen residential and outpatient programs.

CADA works to educate the community about the effects of addiction. Our goal continues to be to serve as many people and their families as possible who are suffering from addiction and their families. Through state, federal and local government funding, grants, and individual contributions, we work to spread the message that treatment works, prevention is effective and recovery is possible.

CADA is one of nearly 90 affiliates of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD); and is also a United Way agency.  It is the oldest and most reliable contractor in the state of Louisiana for the Office of Behavioral Health, Department of Health and Hospitals. CADA provides a comprehensive continuum of care for persons in need of treatment services or other interventions who suffer from the disease of addiction.
